Choosing your booth

What can I use an LA Vocal Booths booth for?

Our modular booths support voiceover, vocal recording, podcasting, streaming and production in home, commercial, educational and business spaces. Choose a configuration around your equipment, available space and noise needs rather than the type of work alone.

Explore the buying guide

How do I start choosing a vocal booth?

Start with your available room, the people and equipment inside, and the sound you want to reduce. Then work through size, model, door, wall windows and package, followed by accessories, colors and component positions.

Explore the buying guide

Which choices make up a booth configuration?

A configuration combines a booth size, wall-construction model, door, wall-window selection and included-system package. Accessories, upgrades, colors and placement choices complete the setup. Check the selected product for its actual available options.

Is Portable EZ Booth the same as a modular isolation booth?

Portable EZ Booth is a separate product family for portable recording treatment. The enclosed modular booth specifications, wall models, sizes and isolation information on this FAQ do not describe EZ Booth. Use its own product page when comparing it with a modular booth.

Sizes, room fit and access

What modular booth sizes are available?

The nine nominal sizes are 4x4, 4x6, 4x8, 6x6, 6x8, 6x10, 8x8, 8x10 and 8x12. These names identify the sizes in the lineup; they are not exact usable interior measurements.

Explore dimensions

Is 2x3 a booth size?

2x3 is a wall-window size. Our modular booth lineup begins at 4x4, and wall windows are selected separately from booth size.

Compare wall windows

Does a 4x4 booth have four feet of usable space inside?

No. Nominal size names do not give the clear working space inside the booth. Use the dimensions for the selected Advanced or Professional model and allow for the acoustic treatment.

Explore dimensions

Do Advanced and Professional have the same interior dimensions?

Advanced and Professional have different interior measurements. Compare the model-specific dimensions for the same nominal size before deciding where your desk, chair and recording equipment will go.

Explore dimensions

How much space does acoustic treatment take up?

The 3-inch interior treatment reduces usable width and length by approximately 6 inches in total, and height by approximately 3 inches, compared with untreated interior dimensions. Include those deductions when planning your working area.

Explore dimensions

How much ceiling height do I need?

The published minimum ceiling height for assembly is 96 inches. The booth itself is approximately 90 inches tall, so measure the lowest obstruction over the installation area rather than relying on the room’s stated ceiling height.

Explore dimensions

How much room should I leave for ventilation?

Allow approximately 12 additional inches on the selected ventilation side. Plan this space together with the booth footprint, access and assembly area before choosing component locations.

Explore dimensions

What should I measure before ordering?

Measure the floor area, lowest ceiling clearance and space for assembly and ventilation. Check doorways, hallways, corners, stairs or elevators along the full delivery route as well. Room fit and delivery access are separate checks.

Explore dimensions

How can I check whether my equipment will fit?

Compare the treated interior dimensions with the actual footprint of your equipment and seating. Allow room for chair movement, microphone positioning and entering and leaving the booth, then check the door, window and ventilation layout.

Explore dimensions

Can I install a booth upstairs or in a space with access restrictions?

Suitability depends on the selected booth, the building and the full delivery path. Have floor-load suitability and access reviewed for your specific project before ordering; a nominal booth size alone does not establish either.

Models and sound isolation

What is the difference between Advanced and Professional?

Advanced uses single-wall construction. Professional uses double-wall construction and is designed for stronger sound isolation. Actual results depend on the sound frequency, configuration, room and installation.

Explore models

Is Professional the same as Premium?

Professional describes the double-wall booth model. Premium describes the upgraded ventilation, acoustics, lighting and power package. Treat model and package as separate decisions when comparing configurations.

Explore packages

Are the booths completely soundproof?

Our modular booths are designed to reduce sound transmission. They do not guarantee complete silence or eliminate every sound; results depend on the booth and the surrounding space.

Explore models

Will a booth keep my neighbors from hearing me?

A booth can reduce sound leaving the recording space, but we cannot guarantee what someone in a neighboring room or property will hear. Consider the sound source, building, room and intended configuration when assessing your needs.

Explore models

Will a booth reduce outside noise in my recordings?

The modular booth structure is designed to reduce sound transmission into and out of the booth. How much a particular outside noise is reduced depends on its frequency, the configuration and the room, so identify the noise you are trying to address before choosing a model.

Explore models

What is the difference between isolation and acoustic treatment?

Sound isolation concerns sound passing into or out of the booth. Acoustic treatment manages sound inside it, including reflections. Choose the wall model for isolation needs and the acoustic package for the interior recording environment.

Packages and included systems

What packages are currently offered?

Standard and Premium are the current packages. Both include ventilation, acoustics, lighting and power, with upgraded versions of those systems in Premium.

Explore packages

Is Basic or a structure-only package available?

Standard and Premium are the current package choices; Basic or structure-only is not currently offered as a listed package. There is no confirmed return date for Basic. Compare Standard and Premium for your current setup.

Explore packages

What does the Standard package include?

Standard includes standard ventilation, 3-inch pyramid foam, color-changing LED light-bar lighting and exterior power access. System quantities depend on booth size, so review the contents for your selected configuration.

Explore packages

What does the Premium package upgrade?

Premium adds ventilation silencers, uses 3-inch sound panels, adds LED rope lighting and adds interior power access. These are system upgrades; the Advanced or Professional model still determines wall construction.

Explore packages

Are package quantities the same for every booth size?

No. Ventilation, acoustic treatment, lighting and power quantities depend on the booth size. Use the contents of your specific configuration rather than assuming a package name means a fixed item count.

Ventilation and comfort

Can I record with the ventilation running?

Premium ventilation adds silencer boxes and is designed for recording with ventilation running. Standard is intended between recordings or during rehearsal and is not silent.

Explore ventilation

What do Standard and Premium ventilation have in common?

Both use intake and exhaust fans with fan-isolation boxes. Premium adds silencer boxes, and the number of components depends on booth size.

Explore ventilation

Is Premium ventilation completely silent?

Premium is designed for recording with ventilation running, but there is no guarantee of complete silence. Results depend on the configuration and surrounding room.

Explore ventilation

How should I choose the ventilation location?

Use the layout diagram for your booth size and reserve the required ventilation positions after choosing the door. Allow the published ventilation-side clearance and consider your room access and equipment before adding optional wall windows.

Acoustics, lighting and power

What acoustic treatment comes with Standard and Premium?

Standard uses 3-inch pyramid foam; Premium uses 3-inch sound panels. The quantities depend on booth size, and these treatments manage sound inside the booth.

Explore acoustics

Will acoustic foam alone block outside noise?

Interior acoustic foam manages sound inside the booth. Sound isolation depends on the complete booth structure and setup, so foam should not be treated as a substitute for choosing the appropriate wall model.

Explore acoustics

What lighting comes with the booth?

Standard includes color-changing LED light-bar lighting. Premium adds LED rope lighting, with quantities based on booth size.

Explore lighting

How is power provided?

Standard provides exterior power access, and Premium adds interior power access. The booth is not hardwired and does not include built-in wall outlets. Power quantities depend on booth size.

Explore power

Can I use specialized or high-power equipment in the booth?

Confirm the electrical needs of specialized or high-power equipment before ordering. The package’s power access alone does not establish that a particular appliance or equipment load is suitable.

Doors, windows and placement

What door options can I choose?

The choices are Flush, 1/2 Lite and Full Lite, each using a 30-inch solid-core door. Flush has no door window, 1/2 Lite has a 2-by-3-foot door window and Full Lite has a 2-by-5-foot door window.

Compare doors

What wall-window sizes are available?

Wall-window sizes are 2x2, 2x3 and 2x4 feet. They use double-pane glass with the published 1/4-inch laminate-glass specification.

Compare wall windows

Is a wall window the same as the glass in the door?

No. The window in a 1/2 Lite or Full Lite door is part of the door choice. A wall window is selected separately and occupies an eligible wall position.

Compare wall windows

Can I choose a booth without a wall window?

Yes. Wall windows are optional. Your door selection is separate, so choosing no wall window does not determine whether your door has glass.

Compare wall windows

Can I use different wall-window sizes in one booth?

You can mix wall-window sizes when enough eligible positions remain after the door and required ventilation positions are assigned. Each position holds one feature; confirm the exact combination in the current configurator before ordering.

Explore locations

Can I choose where the door and windows go?

Placement follows the diagram for your booth size and uses eligible 46-inch wall positions. Assign the door first, required ventilation next and optional wall windows last, without overlapping positions.

Explore locations

Does a 30-inch door guarantee the clear opening I need?

The published 30-inch door specification should not be treated as a confirmed unobstructed opening for your equipment or accessibility requirements. Check the exact access requirements for your project before ordering.

Colors and finishes

What color choices are in the current catalog?

The current catalog has 42 fabric colors and 13 foam colors. Component eligibility varies, and catalog listings do not guarantee stock, price or that a color is already selectable on your product online.

Explore colors

Are all fabric colors available for the booth, door and windows?

Booth, door and window fabric has 39 eligible catalog colors. White, Ivory and Sand are excluded for those components; all 42 fabric colors are eligible for fabric acoustics. Confirm the actual options on the selected product before ordering.

Explore colors

What colors apply to foam acoustics?

The 13 foam colors apply to foam acoustics. Foam and fabric are different materials, and matching color names can have different shades.

Explore colors

What are the default colors?

The default booth and fabric-acoustic color is Charcoal, and the default door and window fabric is Black. The default foam-acoustic color is Charcoal, with a different reference shade from the fabric Charcoal.

Explore colors

Will the online color chart exactly match the material?

The published charts are interim color references. Physical fabric-shade matching is still awaiting sign-off, and a screen or hex reference is not a guarantee of the material’s appearance. Confirm material and ordering availability for your chosen color.

Pricing, quotes and financing

What determines the price of a booth?

Price depends on the selected size, model, door, windows, package and other configuration choices. Use the matching product or calculator for an estimate, then confirm the full configuration and additional costs in a formal quote.

Explore pricing and quotes

Does the calculator include taxes and shipping?

The calculator estimates the configured booth and excludes taxes and shipping. Confirm any delivery or installation charges in your quote before treating an estimate as the final total.

Explore pricing and quotes

Is a structure component price the price of a complete booth?

No. A structure component price is not the complete price of a configured Standard or Premium booth. Compare complete configurations with the included systems and any selected options.

Explore pricing and quotes

What should I have ready for a quote?

Have your size, model, door, wall-window and package choices ready, along with room measurements and delivery or installation requirements. Confirm inclusions, added costs, service availability and any timing requirements in the quote.

Shipping, assembly and support

When will my booth ship and arrive?

Check the current shipping policy for the published shipment estimate. A shipment estimate is not a guaranteed arrival date; supplier or carrier delays and the destination can affect timing.

Explore shipping policy

Does freight delivery include moving the booth inside?

Freight delivery is described as curbside or loading dock. Customers are responsible for moving booth items inside, so plan the receiving area and the full route to the installation space before delivery.

Explore shipping policy

Can LA Vocal Booths deliver and install my booth locally?

Local delivery and installation depend on your address, access and project details. Confirm whether the service is available and what it includes for your location before ordering.
